Accessibility Statement

Last updated October 21, 2026

We want everyone to be able to use mobileapplication.ca, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That target also covers WCAG 2.0 AA, which Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) refers to, and WCAG 2.1 AA, the standard referenced by the US Department of Justice's ADA rule for public entities.

Conformance status

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts may not yet fully meet the standard. We test every page template with automated tools and by keyboard, and we fix what we find, but we have not yet completed a full manual audit with every assistive technology, so we do not claim full conformance.

What we have done

  • A "skip to main content" link, one main landmark and labelled navigation regions on every page.
  • Text and interface colours that meet WCAG contrast ratios, with a visible focus outline on every interactive element.
  • Menus, accordions and tabs built as real buttons that work with the keyboard, announce whether they are open, close with the Escape key and return focus where it came from.
  • Form fields with visible labels, required fields marked in text, error messages tied to the field they describe and announced to screen readers.
  • Touch targets of at least 24 by 24 pixels, and most at 44 by 44 pixels or larger.
  • Layouts that reflow to a 320 pixel wide screen and to 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling, and animation that switches off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • No content that flashes, auto-plays or moves on its own, and no time limits.

Known limitations

  • Some charts in older guides are images with text descriptions rather than fully interactive data tables.
  • Links to third-party websites, such as platform documentation we cite, may not meet the same standard.
